Top 20 family friendly anime

Would you wish to introduce anime to your parents? If so, which anime should you choose? If so, I have some recommendations for you. You can watch the 22 animes I’ve mentioned with your parents. I only selected movies because, in my opinion, they provide a better introduction to the “world of anime” for a novice. In addition, there is a tonne of anime movies that are both stunningly beautiful and profound. I wish you luck in selecting a good one to see shortly with your folks.

Hunter × Hunter

The plot revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss. He discovers that his father is a world-renowned Hunter. His father abandoned him when he was young. Hunter is a licensed professional who specializes in fantastical pursuits. Gon sets out on a journey to become a Hunter and, ultimately, find his father. Gon meets other Hunters and encounters the paranormal along the way.

One Punch Man

Everything about a young man named Saitama screams “AVERAGE.” This is from his lifeless look to his bald head to his mediocre body. This average-looking guy, on the other hand, isn’t having your typical difficulty. He’s a superhero on the lookout for a challenge! The problem is that every time he comes across a potential prospect, he stomps on them with one punch. Can Saitama finally find an awful enemy who can stand up to him? Follow Saitama on his funny adventures as he seeks out new bad people to fight! It is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

Doraemon

Nobita Nobi is a ten-year-old Japanese schoolboy. He is kind and honest, but also lazy, unlucky, weak, gets bad grades, and performs poorly in sports. Doraemon is a robot cat from the 22nd century. He is sent back in time by Nobita’s descendants to care for Nobita. This is so his descendants can have a better life. Doraemon has a four-dimensional pouch in which he keeps future tools. These gadgets are to help Nobita whenever he encounters a problem. Despite being a cat robot, Doraemon is terrified of mice. This is due to an incident in which robotic mice chewed off his ears. Doraemon’s original yellow color faded and he turned blue due to his sadness. It is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

Ponyo

During a forbidden trip to the surface world, a goldfish princess meets a human boy named Sosuke, who names her Ponyo. Ponyo aspires to be human, and as her friendship with Sosuke grows, so does she. Ponyo’s father returns her to their ocean kingdom. However, her desire to live on the surface is so strong that she breaks free. But as a result spilling a collection of magical elixirs that endangers Sosuke’s village. It is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

Your Lie in April

Kaori, who is anemic and requires routine testing, collapses during a performance and is hospitalized. She invites Ksei to join her at a gala, but she does not show up. Her health worsens, and she becomes depressed. Kasai performs a duet with a friend, which inspires Kaori to attempt a potentially lethal surgery to play with Kosei again. Kasai sees Kaori’s spirit accompanying him during the finals of the Eastern Japan Piano Competition and realizes she died during the surgery. It is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist is an adventure, fiction, and fantasy anime. The story revolves around two brothers, Ed and Al, both were Alchemist and had a tragic past. Both the brothers tried to bring their mother back to life. They failed and it resulted in Al losing his body and Ed to keep his brother’s soul on Earth, sacrificed his right arm along with the left leg he already lost. Their missing parts were replaced by steel prosthetics. They both set out on a journey to regain their original bodies and never looked back. And this is why it is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

My Hero Academia

Izuku all his life dreamed of being a hero which was a worthy goal for everyone, but especially difficult for a kid without superpowers. That’s right, in a world where 80% of the population has some kind of super “quirks”, it is very unlucky for Izuku to be born normal. But this did not prevent him from entering one of the most prestigious hero academies in the world.  Now the only thing standing between him and his first year is a great academy entrance exam that a little private tutoring from the world’s most powerful hero can’t solve and this is why it is one of the top anime you should watch with your parents.

Yona of the Dawn

The fictional nation of Kouka was founded 2000 years ago by the Crimson Dragon God, who descended from the Heavens as a human, dubbed the Crimson Dragon King. It was thought that humans were living in an era of evil and power, where they had forgotten about the Gods. The Crimson Dragon King was eventually forced to fight these humans, and just as he was about to be killed and the world was about to end, four other Dragon Gods imbued with dragon blood joined his side as human warriors and helped him lead Kouka to prosperity. The Crimson Dragon King died after they had cleansed Kouka of evil. His death was mourned by the four Dragon warriors.

Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon is set in the fictional Oezo Agricultural High School in Hokkaido and depicts the daily life of Yugo Hachiken, a student from Sapporo who enrolled at Yezo to escape his strict father’s high demands. However, he quickly discovers that life at an agricultural school is not as simple as he had imagined. Unlike his new classmates, he has no plans to pursue an agricultural career after graduation, though he envies them for having already set goals for their lives and pursuing their dreams, which he lacks.

Seraph of the End

In 2012, the world is allegedly brought to an end by a “man-made” virus that ravages the global population while leaving only children under the age of thirteen untouched. At the same time, vampires emerge from the earth’s depths, likely followed by age-old horrors of the dark previously thought to be a myth. They sweep the earth and claim it in a single violent stroke, subjugating the survivors and leading them beneath the surface to safety. This “defense” comes at the cost of “donating” blood to their captors, who are unaware that they are vampires. Yichir and his friend and fellow orphan Mikaela plotted an escape with the children of Hyakuya Orphanage when they were twelve years old.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann is set in a fictional future. The Spiral King, Lordgenome, rules the Earth and forces humanity to live in isolated subterranean villages. The story follows Simon and Kamina, two teenagers who live in a subterranean village and wish to travel to the surface.

Madoka Magica

When Madoka recognizes a young brunette girl who has joined her class, she has a strange sense of familiarity. She claimed to have seen this mysterious girl in a dream. During that encounter, a cat-like creature approached her and offered Madoka a suggestion. At first, she had no interest in magic, claiming that all this was rubbish and didn’t want to participate in it until she witnessed the mysterious girl fighting with the same cat she saw in her dream. The cat-like creature called Kyuubey approached her again with the same question in her dream, about whether she would become Puella Magi in exchange for her deepest wish, from here Madoka’s life changed forever.

Samurai Champloo

Fuu, a young woman working as a waitress in a tea shop, is harassed by a band of samurai. Mugen, a mysterious rogue, and Jin, a young ronin, save her. Mugen attacks Jin after he proves to be a worthy opponent, and they begin fighting, inadvertently killing Shibui Tomonoshina, the magistrate’s son. They will be executed for this crime. The group escapes with the help of Fuu, though Fuu insists on accompanying them to find “the samurai who smells of sunflowers.” They agree to accompany her, with Fuu stipulating that they do not duel each other until the journey is completed.

Gungrave

This Yakuza anime is about a small-time gangster who joined a group with his best friend, Harry McDowell, and three other close mates. Brandon and Harry joined the Millennion crime organization after the murders of their pals. The head of the organization is Big Daddy.

Cells at Work

The story follows the world of a human body, which is represented as cities with approximately 37.2 trillion anthropomorphic cells that work together indefinitely every day to run their world. Every day, they fight to remove and resist pathogenic cells like germs and bacteria from invading the body.

Parasyte

This show focuses on a 17-year-old boy who lives with his parents. One night aliens named Parasytes invaded earth and took over humans by entering their brains through noses or ears. A parasyte, named Migi,  tried to enter Shinichi’s ear but failed so it entered his arm instead and took over it. Shinichi and Migi both were able to maintain their separate personality. With Migi’s help, Shinichi ended up fighting other Parasyte that devour humans as food. 

ReLife

Arata Kaizaki is a 27-year-old unemployed man. He left his previous job after only three months with the company. Arata Kaizaki decides to participate in the “ReLIFE” research program. He takes medication that makes him appear ten years younger, and he is required to attend high school for a year.

Monster

Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a young Japanese brain surgeon who works at Düsseldorf’s Eisler Memorial Hospital. Tenma is dissatisfied with the hospital’s political bias in treating patients and seizes the opportunity to change things when fraternal twins Johan and Anna Liebert are admitted after a massacre. Johan has a gunshot wound to the head, and Anna mutters about killing; Tenma performs surgery on Johan rather than the mayor, who arrives later. Johan is saved, but Mayor Roedecker dies, and Tenma’s social standing suffers. Director Heinemann and the other doctors in Tenma’s path are assassinated, and both children vanish from the hospital. Tenma is suspected by the police, but they have no evidence and can only question him.

Erased

The plot revolves around Satoru Fujinuma, a young man from Chiba who possesses the “Revival” ability, which sends him back in time moments before a life-threatening incident, allowing him to prevent it from happening again. When his mother is murdered by an unknown assailant in his own home, Satoru’s ability transports him eighteen years back in time, allowing him to not only save his mother but also prevent a kidnapping that killed three of his childhood friends.

Death Note

As L and the cops draw in, Light puts the Death Note’s abilities to the test. Fortunately, Light’s father is the director of the Japanese National Police Agency, and important material regarding the case is left lying around the home. Light can stay one step ahead of the authorities with access to his father’s files. But who is the odd guy pursuing him, and how can Light protect himself against adversaries whose names he doesn’t know?

Vinland Saga

A strong fighter named Thors has killed in a battle ruthless Viking Askeladd a long time ago. Thorfinn, the son of Viking Askeladd, witnessed his father’s death and vowed to avenge his father in a glorious duel. Thorfinn was recruited to Askeladd’s ship and began to work with the crew. They looted settlements and deceived the naive army. Thorfinn spends his time honing his fighting skills to win a reward. Will Thorfinn be finally able to defeat Askeladd?
